Wassily Kandinsky’s composition VII
(1913), is part of the composition series.
This work is the most complex painting in his works. The coolness of tragedy abstraction,
the colors and shapes cluttered in a huge canvas. The chaotic image bewilders
vision, however the chaos movement and color disposition still holding the
harmony, because the idea of this painting is recreate music’s abstraction and transcend
to painting.
“He believe that these provided him with forms and colours that were
already imbued with spiritual significance and the resultant energy”(Whitford, 1999, p. 42)
Likewise, the idea of music abstraction elevated to express
spiritualty, natural confusion and natural coordination.
“Neither painting nor sculpture, which gave visible and tangible
from to this spiritual conception of the world, was raised to the same level.” (Bill, 2009, p. 13)
