American glass sculptor and entrepreneur. His works are considered unique to the field of blown glass, "moving it into the realm of large-scale sculpture," (Museum of Fine Arts, Boston). The technical difficulties of working with glass forms are considerable, yet Chihuly uses it as the primary medium for installations and environmental artwork.

Through the following decade, he developed his own skills, influenced by the Italian Murano glassblowing techniques.
He worked with a large team of master glassblowers,
enabling him to produce architectural glass in large quantities.
When the light shines
through the whimsical shape of glass it shows unpredictable shine in the room.
The glass possesses special and clear qualities that reflect beautiful light
rays and diffract them to many different angles, which creates a wide variety
of colour luminosities. The organic curve and spiral shapes are really recognizable
which looks like sea creatures; also the glass crystal shine creates a
whimsical feeling. :)
